Will Artificial Intelligence Eat or Create Jobs?????
Artificial Intelligence (AI) is viewed as the new monster in the job arena. AI is speculated to eat up most of the manual and repetitive jobs, throwing off several professionals out of their jobs. In view of the job devouring spree to get unleashed once the AI monster is released from the cage, there has been resentment growing among the professionals in the prospect of losing their jobs. The resentment reaction is nothing new or is specific to AI, and in fact, such resentment or protest preludes implementation of all new technologies. Take the case of the preceding days of implementation of computers in Indian workplaces. The idea of using computers in workplaces was vehemently opposed as it was regarded that the number of jobs will shrink as only one computer was sufficient to do most of the official work.
